Live Oak Middle School Office Building

Our Story

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Live Oak Middle School, where we serve students in 7th and 8th grade. Middle school is a time of transition for students, and our goal is to prepare your children for the rigors of High School and beyond. At Live Oak Middle School, we will continue to focus on the expectation of each student reaching their potential, while instilling a love of learning and equipping each student with the necessary skills for success in life, including organization, personal responsibility, time management, problem-solving, collaboration, and decision-making.  We promote positive character through GRIZ: Grit, Respect, Integrity, and Zero excuses.

In addition to academics, we provide many opportunities for student participation in extracurricular activities. We offer after-school sports during every season, as well as a variety of Visual and Performing Arts ensembles (Choir, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Drumline, Orchestra, and our yearly school musical performance).

We believe that Parent Involvement is critical to student success.  At Live Oak, there are opportunities for on-site parent involvement with our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), School Site Council (SSC), and our English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). Other ways you can be involved and directly help put your student on the path to success is by ensuring that they attend school every day as well as checking the AERIES Parent Portal regularly to monitor their academic progress.

Open lines of communication are a priority for Live Oak. Do not hesitate to contact our administration, counselors, or teachers regarding any questions or concerns.  Our goal is to work together in providing our students with the optimal learning experience. Additionally, we work to post regular updates on both our Instagram page as well as direct messages to families through Parent Square.

We are very proud of the students at Live Oak Middle School. Together with our staff and our supportive families, our students contribute to an inclusive environment that promotes learning, responsibility, and good character.
We thank you for your support, and look forward to a great 2023-2024!

Sincerely,
Michael Beason, Principal
